International Musician Denver Bierman and the Mile High Orchestra making “History-REES”

The first movie that Denver Bierman was allowed to watch at The REES without his parents was “Ernest Saves Christmas”. His parents dropped him and Nathan off with some money for tickets, popcorn and soda. “My parents dropped me and my brother off at the front door and we got to go by ourselves. Like - that’s a big deal. You don’t forget that. We lived on South Michigan St. - it’s like four blocks away but they picked us up in the car and drove us. It was around Christmas time.”

Subaru Shows The REES Some Love

Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) announced on Friday that The REES Theatre will be receiving a $15,000 grant to assist in providing live streaming to nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other shut-ins within the theatre’s service area.

REES Theatre Reaching for The Stars

After five years, four phases, numerous fund raisers and a supporting cast of, well, hundreds, the opening day of The REES Theatre is almost here. The original owners of the Rees Cinema, Stewart and Opal Rees, brought many innovative features to the building including a cry room, air hand dryers and, probably the most gratifying to many, air conditioning. The theater will again boast advanced technology in audio and visual elements, a new balcony, radiant floor heat and an art wall for photo opportunities.
