In the early 1980s, there was a popular advertising campaign called “Is it real or is it Memorex?” that demonstrated the lifelike quality of Memorex videotape. The commercial showed a woman talking while the camera panned out to reveal that she was recorded on a videotape.

Read MoreIn October of 2018 The REES hosted its first fundraising gala to the theme of Puttin’ on the Ritz, to benefit the campaign to restore and renew Plymouth’s historic theater. The result was an evening of celebration and community excitement. It was a sellout crowd and extraordinarily successful in raising funds to meet our goal and capture a Regional Cities Initiative grant. More importantly, it ignited a spirit of accomplishment in assuring a Plymouth landmark would continue to anchor the downtown and again provide entertainment to the area for generations to come.

We began this journey to restore the iconic REES Theatre, located in Plymouth, Indiana in December of 2016, as a band of twelve community minded individuals with specific skill sets and professional support mechanisms including resources, in legal, accounting, marketing, architectural and graphic design, printing, grant writing, as members of the performing arts, education and simply great hosts.
